I recently published an article talking about the things I love about my iPhone. However, with everything in life: nothing is perfect. So, today I’m am going to be blogging about some of the things I dislike about my iPhone after owning it for a couple of weeks.
The first thing I don’t like about the iPhone is the notch. When I use the phone in portrait orientation I don’t really notice the notch. However, when I watch videos or just play games, the notch starts to become more and more noticeable. Clearly, this phone has been designed to work in a portrait orientation, rather than in landscape. However, the notch houses some of the sensor that make the Face ID technology possible so we do require it on the phone for now.
The next thing I find annoying is the lack of a headphone jack. While this really has become a little more accepted than it was back in 2016 with the release of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, I still find it frustrating that other phone manufacturers are keeping the 3.5mm headphone jack and Apple is not.
The camera protrusion is something that does bother me. If you use the phone naked, then it wobbles constantly. This more or less forces you to buy a case in order to stop the phone from constantly wobbling on a flat surface.
Lack of app optimization: With the release of the iPhone X, it forced many app developers to update their apps. If an app is not optimized for the iPhone X, it has black bars on the bottom and top of the screen bringing back “artificial bezels.” It makes the phone look and feel like an iPhone 8. It will take a while for all apps to take up the whole screen of the iPhone X.
While these are little problems with this phone, I still enjoy what it has to offer and it has been my daily driver for the last couple of weeks.
