Porsche has always been a company that perfects their cars. For instance, with each new generation of the Porsche 911 model range, the new cars released have similar characteristics to the previous generation models. This is what makes Porsche so special, it is the fact that they still continue to perfect their cars and that’s why the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S may be the best sports car you can daily drive.
The Porsche 911 is available in many different models. Ranging from the base Carrera all the way up to the GT2 RS. However, the model I’m taking a look at today is probably the car that most people will buy: The Carrera 4S. This specific model is a four wheel drive car, and the “S” part of the “4S” allows it to get many options that you could normally not get. If you bought the regular 4, you miss out on a lot of other options Porsche reserves for the 4S.
The first thing that makes the 911 a driver focused car is the transmission This car is equipped with the dual-clutch PDK. This gearbox is one of the best available out on today’s market because of how it can predict what gear to shift into before you can. It’s truly magical in the fact that the gear changes are almost instantaneous and that the car completely changes how long the gears are held depending on what driving mode you’re in.
One reason to go for the 4S model rather than the standard 4 is because you get the red steel brake calipers. These brakes work so much more better and last longer overtime than the black brakes on the base model. You can’t get the red brakes on the 4 model. However, you can spec Carbon Ceramic brakes which are very expensive.
This car that I’m reviewing also has the 20 inch RS Spyder Design Wheels. They kind of remind me of the wheels you can spec with the Weissach package on the GT2 RS.
Overall, what makes this car awesome to drive on a daily basis is the fact that the car has 420 hp, a turbo charged engine, and a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds. The car contains all of these outstanding numbers while still being a comfortable 911 that you can drive daily without having to worry about supercar issues. Keep in mind that this mainly applies to the mid-range 911 models. The GT3, GT3 RS, and GT2 RS are all track cars and not designed to be driven on a daily basis.
